Beneficiation is the process where ore is reduced in size and gangue separated from the ore to improve the iron content. Gravity separators (through Spiral Concentrator) and Magnetic separators (through High Gradient Magnetic Separator – HGMS) are the most suitable equipment for Beneficiation of Hematite Iron Ore, which are efficient and economical. These technologies have better operational control and higher in terms of production of high quality DR & BF grade and better weight and Fe recovery.

Beneficiation of iron ores fines to a higher grade enables reduction gangue content in the ore stage and minimises the cost of production of iron. It also facilitates the complete utilization of iron ore fines generated in the mining process after meeting the requirement otherwise idle iron ore fines, which have the following benefits:

Unutilized iron ore fines pose significant environmental hazards thereby requiring strict containment of fines
Utilization of iron ore fines through Beneficiation, Slurry pipeline transfer converting to Pellets reduces the demand load on existing iron ore mines, thereby increasing mines life.
