Paradip Port

Paradip Port is the second largest cargo handling port in India and amongst 13 major ports in the country. The terminal is an all-weather mechanised terminal which has state-of-the-art infrastructure with the highest loading rate among the iron ore handling terminals at the Paradip Port Trust. The Paradip mechanised facility handles dry bulk cargo by way of export and has a fully mechanised conveyor system from the plant.

The 16 MTPA all-weather deep-draft terminal in Paradip Port, Odisha, is strategically located in the Bay of Bengal in close proximity to China, Japan, Myanmar and the rest of the South-East Asian region. With a 4.5 km conveyor, the facility connects the pellet plant to the berthing facility.

The terminal has the highest loading rate among iron ore handling terminals of Paradip Port Trust (~100,000 Tonnes per day), and can handle vessels up to 105,000 DWT. Further, it can export dry bulk cargo through a mechanised handling system and has 230-metre-long mechanised berth that can handle Panamax / Kamsarmax vessels.

Paradip Port is connected via road to all major industrial centres through Cuttack. Paradip Port rail network is a part of the East Coast railway system and is connected to the hinterland via Cuttack by a double line with electrified rail link.

Green

Maritime transport is the more environmentally friendly means of logistics. The port linkage to our Pellet Manufacturing complex not only help expand our export potential, but also ensures that we do that the green way. The conveyors and high mechanisation will ensure least dust and emissions during the entire operation, leaving minimal impact on the community and the environment.
