Benefits:

  • The Proposed plant uses Iron Ore Fines as the major raw material which are available in abundant otherwise the accumulation of the same can create environmental issues.
  • Provision of Return water to substantially reduce the makeup water consumption per ton of pellet production.
  • The Iron slurry will be transported to Pellet plant by a 250 km long slurry pipeline which is not only a very economical and socio environmental friendly but also avoids a more herculean task transportation of the same by road or rail networks.
  • Technological intervention of state of art clarifiers and pressure filters ensures in dry residual iron ore fines instead of wet tailings.
  • The water recovered above will be reused in process water requirement thereby minimizing the drawing of makeup water from natural water source and effective utilization of resources.
  • Iron Ore Slurry will be collected in slurry storage tanks in Pellet Plant and the water from the slurry will be separated by using pressure filters. The water recovered from the slurry will be used to meet the process water requirement of Pellet Plant.
  • The excess water from filtration water will be sent back to Beneficiation Plant by a Return Water Pipeline which will ultimately reduce the makeup requirement by 30% thereby saving precious natural water sources.
  • The Project process is being developed on “Zero Discharge” philosophy and all the discharges will be recirculated and used with in the plant through necessary treatment facilities at Pellet Plant.
  • Rain water harvesting at Beneficiation plant and Pellet plant will be installed.
  • 33% of the total land at Beneficiation and Pellet plant will be covered under green belt.
  • The proposed Plant is less noise intensive, free from chemical hazards and poisonous gaseous emissions.
  • The Pellet plant is designed to run on Natural Gas and Furnace oil in case of emergency.
  • Emission of flue gases will be passed through advance air pollution control systems to minimize the suspended particles.
  • Part of the total power requirement will be generated from renewable energy ( solar power).
  • The technology and other services including utilities at both the plants will be towards fulfilling the carbon neutrality.
